I Used Buy and Sell Apps To Sell My Stuff
Posted: Aug 11, 2017
From the couch you just replaced to that cool jacket you bought on a whim and have only worn a few times, are you looking to get rid of some of the clutter in your home? While setting up and planning a garage sale may be a great form of exercise, it usually doesn’t translate to a lot of money in your pocket. Why not make extra cash from those items with only a few clicks on your smartphone using buy and sell apps? Following the saying that "one man’s trash is another man’s treasure," there are a few free buy and sell apps that can help you offer up your items for sale to people in your area.
Here’s how buy and sell apps work: you have a gently used or new item that you want to sell -- whether it’s a bicycle, car, couch, shirt, handbag, a board game, golf clubs, a dining table, or whatever – and you post it to one of the buy and sell apps available on Google Play or the App Store. When you post the item for sale, you set your desired selling price and general location, and the buy and sell app displays your item to an audience of shoppers nearby. When shoppers see your item for sale, they can contact you directly in the buy and sell app to purchase it from you, so you never have to give out your personal information to them. You set the day, time, and location for them to pick up the item from you, and you sell it to them then -- cha-ching! It usually takes me about 1 minute to post an item for sale on these buy and sell apps, so they’re super easy and fast.
People looking to find deals on gently used items that are in great condition (if not new condition) are often able to use these buying and selling apps to find steep discounts on items that they otherwise would pay 200%+ more at a retail store. For this reason, these buy and sell apps are becoming increasingly popular. Often, I can sell my stuff faster than if I had set up a garage sale – with less work, and with a lot more money in my pocket. Usually, I can sell my stuff the very same-day that I post it a buy and sell app – or within a day or two for larger items (couch, table, dining chairs, etc.).
Personally, I’ve found that nothing is easier to sell my stuff than to use my smartphone to capture an item I want to sell and uploading it to these buy & sell apps. I’ve used quite a few of them, including Offerup, Letgo, and 5miles, but my personal favorite is Adyoyo.com What’s great about Adyoyo is that they are a video-only buy and sell app – so all I have to do is open the app, take a quick video of the item I want to sell, set my price, and post it to their app. It literally takes about a minute. Usually, my item sells faster on Adyoyo than on the other buy and sell apps because I’m actually able to sell my stuff in a video, which allows me to demonstrate how it works, turn it on, and highlight all of its features, which most of the other big buy and sell apps do not offer. As a shopper on Adyoyo, I also shop with more confidence than with the other buy and sell apps, knowing that what I see on the video is exactly what I’m going to get. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve shopped on other buying and selling apps, went to pickup the item, and it was in poor condition and looked nothing like it did in the photos. I’m sure that Adyoyo’s video capabilities attribute to selling faster because people know that what they see on the video is exactly what they’re going to get.
If you’re interested selling your stuff, I recommend that you download the buy and sell app, Adyoyo, instead of hosting a garage sale. When I want to sell my stuff, that’s where I go. It’s simple, fun, and only takes a minute.
