Weddings are one of the major milestones in a person’s life. With all your expenditures on your ideal dress, your beautiful jewellery, your romantic venue, it’s decoration and all the other things that will contribute to make your wedding a perfect day who doesn’t want to record them in their own style to relive those moments again?

Every wedding photographer shoots in his own style. This is really important to get the one that matches the vision and sense for your wedding photographs as you want them.

I have outlined the 3 mostly liked patterns of wedding photography these days. Note that this is also possible for a photographer to shoot in more than one style at the same time. You can do your research in this regard as well.

Traditional type of wedding photography

Traditional or Classical wedding photography covers the wedding day pictures in a complete traditional manner including signing the marriage register, the exchange of rings, family groups & walking down the aisle as a couple. Some people still chose this pattern and they love it.

Weddings have always been a formal gathering. Classical photography has stood the test of time with it. With managed lighting and posing techniques the traditional wedding photography is still making its way in your wedding digital albums. These are the type of shots your grandparents expect to see in your wedding photos and are often found on display on the walls of your home.

Reportage type of wedding photography

Reportage or Photojournalistic wedding photography literally reports the event. The photographer mingles into the background and captures the details as they happen originally. People usually have no clue here that their photographs are being taken.

Reportage photography coverage really is the toughest to gain perfection. It takes many years of experience, presence of mind and quick & lightning fast reactions to perfectly click & record a wedding in this format.

Reportage should not be confused with the well executed and crafted traditional photographs where the expertise of the photographer makes the photograph appear incredible and natural not posed.

But there comes an issue, If you choose reportage photography completely, you may regret not having those cultural usual photographs in your album. Since you are relying completely on the photographer’s interpretation of your day, there’s a chance that he may skip any special moment that you are going miss lately. Your parents are usually the first to complain about missing those traditional images in your album.

Contemporary type of wedding photography

Contemporary or Avant Garde wedding photography means different for different people. Contemporary is the style that is continuously altering means the images date very quickly.

Contemporary wedding photography involves unusual or "off the wall" ideas and use different camera angles. This way of photography reflects more of the photographer’s personality into the photograph together with his artistic vision and individual style. It is less popular but when done with perfection, the results can be amazing to make a wedding website or wedding album unique.
