Basically, Cenosphere is a hollow sphere particle which is a light weight and inert hollow sphere particle largely comprised of silica and alumina. These particles are also filled with air or inert gas. Based on the facts and figures, it is determined that the Cenosphere particles occur naturally as a by-product of the burning process of pulverized coal fired boilers at the thermal power plant. They are formed in the course of their molten state of ash and thus, accomplish a spherical shape having least surface tension. Cenosphere exporter India explained it further as any gas bubble that flows along the combustion gas stream also gets stuck inside the spheres, though the bubbles can be formed into different forms surrounded by the frozen particles or as a concentric form that is as great as the diameter of the particles. Ultimately, they are found floating on the apparent of fly ash lagoon.

Many exporters have studied the influence of Cenosphere surface treatment and mixing method on the properties of injection molded HDPE (high-density polyethylene) matrix syntactic foam. Thus, the Cenosphere exporter India treats the particles with silane and HDPE those are functionalized with dibutyl maleate. Adding to it, modulus and strength are established for increasing the Cenosphere content for composites along with treated constituents. 40 and 60% wt. is the highest modulus and strength that are observed untreated mechanically mixed and treated brabender mixed HDPE blends respectively. These standards are more than 37 and 17% than those of virgin and functionalized Cenosphere particles. Thus, the theoretical models are castoff for accessing the effects of the properties and interfacial bonding of the particles on modulus and strength of the syntactic foam. Cenosphere exporter India states that the brabender mixing method is considered for providing the highest tensile and fracture strengths which are qualified with a purpose of the effectiveness of Brabender in betraying particle clusters and thus, producing the higher particle-matrix surface area as compared to that produced by applying mechanical mixing method. Hence, the theoretical trends demonstrate clear advantages of improved particle-matrix interfacial bonding resulting in higher strength.

Going through the properties of the cenospheres, there are several advantages that make them as a perfect component to be used as filler. The advantages include:

  • Spherical shape
  • Lightweight
  • Free flowing
  • Inert
  • Insulating
  • High melting point
  • Electrical properties
  • Hard
  • Low oil absorption
  • Good packing factor application.

Hence, cenospheres is a versatile application that is widely used as a filler for a variety of products, both commercial and industrial.
