Is NMAT Really Worth It?

The CAT Fever is gripping students and they seem to have buried themselves in books and practice of question papers to power up their preparation. While it is known that out of the 2 Lakh estimated applicants writing the exam a low percentage of students would be able to make it to their desired destination, it does not have to serve as a demotivator in the line of so many other options available currently.

Conducted by the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies in Mumbai, the Nmat (NMIMS Management Aptitude Test) is one of the alternate exams that are available for various students across to attempt in the face of exams like CAT or MAT being very competitive. Accepted by schools of repute like UPES, VIT Vellore and IBS Hyderabad, NMAT is more student friendly and offers candidates certain advantages.

Assessment of skills:

An assessment of skills to do well in the Business School would help you form an analysis as to what your strengths and weaknesses are.

Multiple Test Taking

In an admission cycle, a candidate is allowed to take test three times. You get the confidence that more than a single opportunity will help you perform your very best.

Answer Revision:

The candidate has the opportunity to revise answers at the end of every section to revise if not sure about the response that you have given.

Negative marking:

There is no negative marking in the paper. Candidates are allowed to make an informed guess on the answers.

Date, Time and Location:

A 75-day long testing window opens in the first week of October and ends in December. The candidates have enough time to schedule their test date and test timing.

Self-Schedule

You can choose a test appointment date, time and location in the real time on a first come first served basis.

Sending scores for free to 5 institutes

A candidate can choose the institutes to whom the scores need to be sent before or after attempting the exam. A candidate would be able to send scores to more than 5 institutes before or after registering for an additional fee.

Applying to the Business School

The Business School that you want to apply can be decided or then decide to apply to a Business School depending on the comfort with the results that have been obtained.

Test Sections

The exam takers can choose the order of the sections wherein each section would be individually timed. Test takers should answer and review questions of a section within the allotted time.

Unacceptable IDs

The Learner’s driving license, photocopies and notarized copies are not accepted and considered invalid as on the day of the test.

The scores of the test takers would be declared within 4-5 weeks of the exam. An equalization procedure can also be carried out to bring about parity and fairness to keep the test takers informed in a timely way.

The Test takers can pay for the Registration/Late Registration/Retake Application via Mobile Wallets, Internet banking or cash.
