Technology innovation has forced app development agencies to do make changes to what they offer and make a future-centric mobile app. The new age Mobile app development is all about the following trends:

IoT: This is going to be a necessity and coming days. This technology has a lot of potential to change the way we interact with other electronic devices.

Apps that bank on GPS: This is yet another feature that will be a must. People tend to use GPS too often now, especially to commute. However, this is not the only use. With the increase in the use of BLE technologies (Beacons), GPS including Wi-Fi based apps are going to be more important than ever.

Wearables: The wearables market exceeded $4 billion in 2017 (Source), which is a big deal. Wearables include a smart watch, fitness bands, smart jewellery and glasses and they are in good demand as of now. One must develop an app that is compatible with such devices

Security: As per the reports of Gartner, 75% of mobile apps fail to clear the security test. Though we come across many security apps and might have installed a few as well, but are they really secured is a big question. Here is a huge opportunity for Mobile app developers to make a difference.

Micro and Enterprise Apps: Enterprise apps work towards a bigger perspective of streamlining the business processes while micro apps are more focused or are inclined towards specific tasks. Businesses also want to mark their presence in the digital world through apps, which necessarily help them with customer retention and brand awareness.

AR and VR: These two concepts are lot talked about, but what I believe is there is still time before they will become a prime focus. App Development companies do not seem to be ready for this as off now.

M-commerce and Voice commerce: Customer’s preference to buy products with m-money instead of plastic money is giving a thrust to m-commerce. Also given the consumer’s rising comfort level with virtual assistants and chatbots, widespread adoption of voice commerce is inevitable.

It is high time now that app development companies work towards this. I know a few companies capable of making this possible and Cygnet Infotech is would be my first choice.
