11 Days Celebration Ganesh Chaturthi 2017

Ganesh Chaturthi is a day full of positive powers which attract knowledge and a progressive future. Worshiping Lord Ganesha by abiding strictly to the puja rituals and procedures, is highly recommended to every Hindu. We have mentioned below the procedures to be followed for the 11 days celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi. The Lord is worshiped in a special way for a day and a half, 3 days, 5 days, 7 days or 11 days depending on the family tradition and commitment of each individual. This varies from place to place.

1 and half days visarjan on – 26th August 20173 days visarjan on – 27th August 20175 days visarjan on – 29th August 20177 days visarjan on – 31st August 201711 days visarjan on – 5th September 2017 (Anant Chaturthi)

Bring the idol home: It is known as the Shubh, Labh or Amrit Choghadiya. If you intend to bring Ganpatiji one day before, i.e. on the 24th August 2017, the Shubh time is between 06:25 to 07:59 and the Labh time is 12:41 to 14:14. Ganpati Ji can also be brought home during the Amrit time which is between 14:14 to 15:48.

Day of Ganesh Chaturthi (25th August)

The installation of the idol of Lord Ganesh is done on Ganesh Chaturthi and can be done at Labh time between 07:59 to 09:33 or Amrit Time i.e. between 09:33 to 11:07. It is believed that Lord Ganesh was born during Madhyahana Kaal which is between 12:40 and 14:14. The Muhurut time specified above is the best Muhurut to perform the Ganesh Puja and to perform any auspicious work.

Pre preparations involved

  • The place of the idol is to be positioned, so as to ensure that people are able to view it during most of the times throughout a day.
  • Before installing the idol, clean the place thoroughly, lay a cloth and spread some rice on the cloth. Then place the idol on the cloth.
  • You can then decorate the idol with flowers, Chandan, and any more things.
