It is as common to face problems with Dodge ECM as with any other. The secret to problem or hassle free operations lie in taking care of your Dodge ECM and handling it with care that it deserves. Those who do, their machines work smooth and don’t breakdown in the middle of nowhere.

To own or buy one thing and use it well, are two different things; it’s a mantra most people forget as soon as they go for a new Dodge ECM. The cost pinches alright, but they forget all about maintaining or using it well in a few days!

ECM is a modern computer fitted in dodge that receives inputs from every system on the vehicle, quickly using the information in order to deliver engine power for operating conditions. ECM receives battery power and sends it forward to sensors and other engine control units. Just like it sends, it also receives information from all these components. This helps in both ways -to monitor and get monitored, resulting in smooth hassle free and efficient operation.

When ECM becomes problematic or fails it really throws the system out of control. Since ECM performs lot many functions directly and indirectly all of them come to a halt resulting in breakdown, downtime etc. When ECM stops working it means it fails to connect, fails to operate, and fails to interpret data correctly, leading to serious trouble as most systems become dysfunctional. Signals become improper and all this will trigger the check engine light, The symptoms also depend on which systems use the portion of the ECM damaged, but, generally the most prominent and obvious and common symptom, when the ECM fails is that the vehicle does not start and run.

When your ECM fails there is no way you can drive your vehicle as instruction machinery has gone out of order. As said earlier since ECM sends and receives a lot of signals problems created in Dodge ECM leads to dodge stopping or braking or shutting off mid of journey. Sometimes it gives strange in-between signals similar to stopping and starting again, engine shutting but starting soon after to shut again. IF you notice such signs it means ECM is in repair stage and if you show it to technician, chances are that your ECM will be repaired and will be able to serve you for a little longer if you handle it carefully.
