  • Laser cladding produces negligible heat input on the part, which eliminates any mechanical distortion hence the need of post processing.

  • It avoids loss of alloying material or hardening of base material.

  • Laser cladding produce high quality clad with very low dilution, low porosity and good surface uniformity.

  • The clad layer formed by laser cladding has very fine grain structure. This clad can withstand compression and stress without cracking.

  • Laser cladding results in reduced production time and offers excellent output characteristics. This makes it much more efficient than conventional methods.

  • It offers enhanced thermal control.

  • Out of all Laser cladding systems, diode laser is becoming quite popular because of its superior performance.The diode laser is semiconductor device which directly converts electrical energy into laser light.

  • Repair and restoration of turbine blades, gas turbine and internal combustion engine parts.

  • Deposition of wear-resistant and anti-corrosion coatings.

  • In industry, laser cladding is used for surface cladding, repair welding and generative manufacturing.
