The Swivel Unions are special mechanical precision components used for transfer of fluids from stationary sources, such as source pipe to end point of the pipe. The swivel union are used in many manufacturing units as a coolant, to heat or to pass fluid.

There are some fluids or gas things that can be fed through, such as Water, Air, Coolant Hot steam, Hydraulic, Gases, hot oil, semi-fluids and various types of liquid media or it is also used to keep the vacuum.

The swivel unions are similar to the coupling that allows the convenient separation of pipes for continuity. The union allows easy attachment and separation. It consists of three parts: 1.The nut. 2.The female end. 3.The male end. When the female and male ends are joined, the nut seals the joint.

The Types of Swivel Unions and the types of things that can be fed through:

1. Single Flow Passage Rotary joints – Water, Air, Coolant.2. Dual Flow Passage Rotary Unions – Hydraulic, Steam, Vacuum.3. Triple Flow Passage Rotary Unions – Air, Hydraulic, vacuum.4. Four Passage Rotary Unions – Hydraulic, Vacuum, Air.

A swivel union can have Teflon seals, supported with bearings and Hardened shafts to promote transmission of gases and fluids under very High Pressure and higher loads.

Swivel unions can be made from metals or alloys which are resistant to corrosion, such as Brass, Stainless with higher chromium content.

Type of seal like viton, teflon improves its capability to handle higher pressures, along with the alignment angles determines its capability to function in a particular application.

The Advantages Of Swivel Unions

1. It Seals that contain the fluid/gases in the union.2. It Has no rust.3. Faster to join and easier to install.4. It Can be fitted with hands and is easily replaceable.

The Applications Of Swivel Unions

1. In joining two pipe objects.2. In connecting to some Electrical Equipment.3. It is Used for leak proof transfer of gases or fluids or liquids to and from the stationary supply services.4. In supply of continuous brake fluid in vehicles. 5. To transmit coolant in Machine tools that is fixed beside the driller.
