MPSC Exam Details

MPSC is a Maharashtra Public Service Commission. Maharashtra state provides services like wide career opportunities for desirable students from Maharashtra to work at various state level postings. MPSC conducts the following exams:

  • 1st: State services exam
  • 2nd: Forest service exam
  • 3rd: Agricultural service exam

Class 1:

  • Deputy collector
  • Deputy superintendent of police
  • Assistant Commissioner sales Tax

  • Finance, Audit & Accounts service

Class 2:

  • Block Development Officer (BDO)
  • Chief Officer, Nagar Pallika / Nagar Parishad
  • Mantralaya Section Officer
  • Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO)
  • Deputy Superintendent State Excise Dept.

Examination Details: student from any graduation or appearing in a final year they are appear for this examination.

The MPSC examination consists of 3 stages as follows:

  • Preliminary exam
  • Main exam
  • Personal interview/ Personality test

The preliminary exam is just a basic test for appearing main exam. The aptitude paper is of 200 marks. The questions are of objective (Multiple choice types) with 1/3 negative marking. The selected candidates appear for main examination in the last month of year. The main exam consists of seven papers. All these papers are in detail descriptive nature. The interview is of 275 marks, it is based on personal information of candidate, currents events etc. The interview is for calculating overall personality of candidate, clarity of thoughts, confidence level, and ability to look at issues and handle it from different angles, ability to handle all the difficulties.

The upper age limit for a general category is 33 years and a candidate can give multiple attempts. Candidate having caste reservation the age depends on the category.
