Everybody has had those days wherein at one point they were just enjoying their time taking photos of themselves and by the next, the horror of a text flashing across their screen suddenly appears with the words: "Storage Almost Full". That is an obvious party pooper, as it prohibits you from taking more photos or videos for the sole purpose of treasuring memories. So, here from phone repair Conway, AR, we are here to help you figure out simple ways on how you can easily clear up storage space for incoming files

  • Backup your photos and videos then delete them in your phone

You cannot deny that the type of files taking up most of your storage space is your photos and videos and you can check how much space these are consuming on your phone by going to the Settings app> General> Storage iCloud Usage> Manage Storage under the storage section. From us here at cell phone repair Conway know it is best to backup your files that you know you will not be using for a while in an external hard drive or you can upload them in an online drive or storage services such as Google Drive or Dropbox as these two will allow you to upload your files with the original quality. At first, these will allow you to upload for free with a limited storage and you will have to pay for an extension

  • Clear your "recently deleted" album

When you delete certain files from your phone, it does not automatically get removed from your system, instead, an option from your phone called "Recently Deleted" from your phone saves it. Think of it as a Windows counterpart of Recycle Bin wherein you have the option to view your recently deleted files and have a chance to restore them in your storage space before completely removing any trace of it. Although it clears up after 30 days, it means that it still consumes storage space on your phone within that 30-day timeframe so clearing the bin would be a better option.

  • Delete apps that take up too much space

This is a no-brainer and it is a trick that almost anyone knows is the option that you can easily save space by deleting apps on your phone that you no longer use. If it so happens that you will need them again, you can easily download it anyway. To view how, you can easily see it by going to Settings> General> Storage & iCloud Usage> Manage Storage under storage section. Just simply tap on the icon of the app and choose the option of delete.

  • Turn off Photo Stream

If you do not know about this yet, we here at cell phone repair Conway are willing to educate you about this. The Photo Stream is a feature in iPhones that allow and automatically uploads recent photos and videos to all of your devices in sync with the iCloud when it is connected to a WiFi. This means that your devices may automatically be consumed with files and to save more space, you have to turn off the Photo Stream Option.
