How to Become a Cisco Certified Network Professional

Becoming a certified professional is an excellent way to set yourself on the career path or to bag the job in the IT field. However to become certified professional in any field or to gain the certifications, you need to take and clear the test for which you are required to study a lot. In addition to that,you can also join Networking Training to clear the CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) exam to become a certified professional.

What is CCNP?

As a Ccnp, you will deal with planning, verification, execution and troubleshooting of Cisco-based networks. You can also specialize in any particular area like voice, security, wireless and video solutions. You may also land a job as a network engineer, IT manager or Network administrator after obtaining the certification.

CCNPs have better availability of jobs and they also earn higher salary as compared to CCNAs. They are given more freedom to complete the work tasks. Their chances of achieving senior Management role are also high as compared to their non-certified peers. 5. Architect Certification

Cisco Certified Architect is the highest level of accreditation achievable and recognizes the architectural expertise of network designers.

Pre Requisite to become a CCNP

Any CCNA or CCIE with at least one year of networking experience can become a CCNP by successfully passing 3 exams: ROUTE, SWITCH and TSHOOT.

The Exams

1.642-902 ROUTE

It is considered as the most challenging of the 3 exam. It mainly focus eson IP routing principles, how to set up routes, and what makes Cisco network models different than their competitors. It compromises of 45-55 questions and cost $200 per attempt

2.642-813 SWITCH

This exam lays emphasis on: the proper protocol for designing, configuring, and supporting multilayer switched networks, how switches communicate with each other, and how to integrate voice, video, VLANs and WLANs with campus networks.It consists of 35-45 questions and costs $200 each time you attempt it. The approximate time for completing the exam is 120 minutes.

3.642-832 TSHOOT

This exam forces you to combine routing and switching concepts to answer difficult troubleshooting questions. The idea of this exam is to ensure you’re using Cisco’s preferred process of troubleshooting. It consists of 35-40 questions and costs $200 per attempt. The approximate time for completing the exam is 135 minutes.
