There was once a time where social media was something that influenced our lives, instead being used as a tool to speak and reach out to one another. Now, businesses are taking advantage of social media, using it as an alternative form of marketing and of course keeping in touch with customers with questions regarding services or products. The swift transition has happened and now businesses utilise the likes of Facebook to help increase brand awareness and keep up with the ever-changing demands of the business world.

That being said, how can businesses truly take advantage of social media with their marketing strategies?

Brand Recognition

Nothing is more important than creating a voice for your business and ensuring that it is trusted. It can be difficult with the heavyweights of the business world pouring their unlimited budgets into the matter, however, that doesn’t necessarily mean that it isn’t possible. Established businesses ensure that their followers are kept up to date, which is something that smaller businesses should also do. It isn’t difficult and it means that there are constant updates being produced, helping you increase the brand's awareness.

Whether you do this through paid channels, or you do it by reaching out to the followers you have, it’s important to do so. Followers need to see a real voice behind the brand and without it, you can find yourself just being a robot that doesn’t provide any help what so ever. This is where the likes of Sky, Tesco, BBC and more do wonders. Sky is known to cut out the automated voices in phone calls, providing their followers with the direct Sky contact number, which in turn cuts out the middleman.

Quality Content

For businesses the word content is thrown about so often that it can become a nightmare. Social media can bring quality content throughout the brand, which is easy when you consider that you are simply updating your content. Give your followers some reason and joy to follow the brand and in turn, in will help get return customers to purchase again and build trust. Use your content to engage, inspire and give followers something to be excited about.

Marketing

As we’ve briefly touched on, social media has become effective marketing tool over the years. Brands have used it to engage with the interests, demographics and profiles of Facebook users in order to further increase reach and of course generate sales or leads. The value Facebook has now is second to none, consider people are known to spend endless amounts of time scrolling through updating or even checking up on friends. It is something that can prove to be useful for all marketing strategies.
