CBSE to conduct JEE Main on April 8 2018, official notification

The JEE Main 2018 Exam Notification is declared by the Central Board of Secondary Education on Friday. The offline mode i.e. pen and paper based examination will take place on 8th April 2018. For online mode i.e. computer-based examination, the officials of the board have told that dates will be declared soon. However, the expected date for online examination will be in mid-April 2018.

Paper-1 for JEE Main 2018 will be conducted through both modes, online and offline mode. Paper-2 will be conducted through only online mode. Candidates should note that the registration process will start from the first week of December 2017. The last date for the registration will be in the end of January 2018.

This year the expected number of appearing candidates for Join Entrance Examination Main 2018 is more than 13 Lakh.

Joint Entrance Examination Main 2018 will be conducted in 104 cities in India and in 9 foreign cities. This examination is conducted for admission into the top engineering institutes of India namely, IIITs, NITs, and other privately funded institutes. There are 31 National Institute of Technology (NIT), 23 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIIT), and 20 Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFIT) in India.

Also, the candidate qualifying the JEE Main 2018 are eligible to give JEE Advanced 2018. The JEE Advanced will take place by the IITs on 20th May 2018. It will be conducted through online mode i.e. computer-based examination, only. After qualifying JEE Advanced examination candidates will be able to get admission in Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).

Candidates can choose B.Tech/B.E and B.Arch/B.Planning programmes in various courses. Appearing candidates need to have passed or appeared in the 12th standard examination.

The exam pattern for paper-1 will cover three subjects namely- Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The question paper will have multiple choice questions.

Moreover, for paper -2 there will be subjects namely- Mathematics, aptitude test, and drawing test. It will also have multiple choice questions. For both the papers, paper-1 and paper-2, exam will be conducted in three hours of duration, respectively. Candidates are required to prepare efficiently to grab a seat in top institutes of India. JEE Main 2018 preparation books can be followed along with the sample papers, to get an idea of important, semi-important and non-important questions.

For every correct, four marks will be allotted and for every wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted.
