Opening the box

The first thing to say is that the Vaporesso Aurora Vape Starter Kit looks great and is packaged to a high standard like every Vaporesso product that we’ve been lucky enough to come across. The product itself is not too dissimilarly to a zippo; it flips open and has a good feel about it. A good start!

Well, you get all of the essentials:

The look

As we mentioned the product itself looks a lot like a traditional zippo; it flips open just like on and could reasonably be mistaken for one. The swivel action allows you to vape and then swivel it back to close off the mod. The smooth, good looking drip tip looks a little like a pipe tip, but I wish that they would offer more options on this front. There are no buttons; the Vaporesso Aurora Vape Starter Kit is draw activated only.

The tank holds a modest 1.2mls of fluid and is accessed by pulling the drip tip. Where the bottom of the tank unscrews you can replace the coil when required and we particularly like the cut out on the mod so you can continuously monitor your fluid level ensuring you aren’t caught short.

There is no spare tank included which feels a little stingy on Vaporesso’s part, so you will need to buy an additional one if you break yours or if you want to switch flavours.

The draw can feel a little tight from the ceramic SS 316, 1.4 ohm coils; one is pre-installed and the other is a spare. Definitely MTL on the draw front.

Charging is easy via the 800mAh internal battery and there is a handy light that indicates when it is fully charged; its white when charging and turns off when it is fully charged. What we like is that you don’t have to put the mod on its side to charge it up; nice touch.

A little more about the mod

We’ve already mentioned the zippo look and feel to the mod; it looks cool and contemporary and we really like it. Small and easy to store and conceal this is a really good back up mod or even a stealth mod (hey, everyone needs one of these right?).

The board

This mod will not produce a dragon-like plume of smoke; the maximum 12 watt power source will just produce a little puff of vape.

• but how does it vape?

Absolutely fine for what it is; you aren’t going to be shrouded in vape like some more powerful mods, but hat not everyone’s cup of tea so the Vaporesso Aurora Vape Starter Kit certainly has its place. Battery power is also surprisingly good for such a small mod.

Conclusion

This is a great little mod; the Vaporesso Aurora Vape Starter Kit is a great stealth kit or starter kit. Well worth a purchase!
