Cenosphere Manufacturer Explains What Fly Ash Application is All About

A cenosphere is a lightweight, inert, hollow sphere consisting largely of silica and alumina and is filled with air and inert gas. The product is typically produced as a byproduct of coal combustion at a thermal power plant. According to cenosphere manufacturer, the process of burning coal produces fly ash that contains the ceramic particle. These particles are made largely of silica and alumina. Fly ash is produced when the temperature reaches between 15500 to 1750o C (i.e. 2730 to 3180o F) through complicated chemical and physical transformation. The chemical composition and structure of ash particles varies depending on their composition of coal that produced them.

As mentioned above, fly ash is a fine powder that is produced as a byproduct from burning pulverized coal in thermal power plants, it is also known as a pozzolan, a substance that contains aluminous and siliceous material that formulates cement in the presence of water. Cenosphere manufacturer further explains that when these particles are blended with lime and water, the mixture forms a compound which is similar to Portland cement. The particles produced in coal combustion provide an excellent prime material for using in blended cement, hollow blocks, and mosaic tiles.

As the fly ash particles are cost-effective measures and a substitute for Portland cement, it is recognized as an environment-friendly product because it is produced as a byproduct and has low-embodied energy. Types of fly ash used:

Cenosphere manufacturer states that there are two types of fly ash: C class and F class. Class F is typically low-calcium fly ashes containing carbon components less than 5%, whereas, C class is composed to high-calcium with carbon components less than 2%.
