Long term car parking is similar to short term parking only that your car will stay longer at the cheap Manchester airport parking or any other airport parking that you will be using. It’s therefore important that you take care of your car before you leave it. In this way all you will save yourself the trouble of being stuck at the airport the moment you arrive.

Get Rid of Trash

There is nothing worse than arriving to pick your car and when you open the car door it reeks the whole London Heathrow airport parking lot and you will be required to either spend a bunch of money getting it cleaned or worse yet having to drive back home with the horrible stench. To avoid that get rid of all your trash, this is more vital if you like eating in your car and leave left overs. So that piece of chicken wing that fell below your seat, get it and throw it away. Get rid of any receipts or any documents that have important pieces of information too.

Disconnect Your Battery

If your car battery drains after a period of inactivity, it is best to disconnect it. By disconnecting it you will avoid power drain and save yourself the trouble of having to get it worked on when you get back. Furthermore it only takes a minute to disconnect and reconnect the battery later on.

Fully Inflate Your Tyres and Park away from Sunlight

Fully inflate your tyres, ensure they have no leaks and park away from the sun. Leaks can flatten out tyres during extended periods in the Airport parking and transfers parking lot. So to avoid having to spend money to tow your car makes sure that they are fully inflated. Sun exposure will fade your car and crack any plastic therefore damaging your interiors. If your packing space is in direct sunlight buy some sun protectors for your car.

Do not leave your valuables and other attractive items While most airports have good parking lot security, do not leave your valuables in the car. Carry them along with you or better yet leave them at home. People get their stuff stolen in parking lots which may not have as much security as airports but don’t take the chance with the airport, carry them along as a safety precaution. If you have items that are flashy but aren’t really expensive carry them along or hid them out of sight to avoid any break-in.
