If you are a doctor running a private practice and owning an MRI scanner, then one thing that would be of concern to you will be the servicing cost of the equipment. The maintenance cost of MRI equipment can be substantial and a drain on your budget. But there are a few ways to cut down on such servicing costs, which include-
- Get Equipment On Lease: The easiest way for you to not just save on MRI servicing costs, but to never be bothered about it is to acquire the equipment on lease. Approach a good MRI equipment financing company and you should easily be able to get approval for the lease provided you are able to furnish the required documents and necessary business finances. And when the equipment is leased, all servicing costs will be included in the monthly installment you pay. As such, no matter what type of repair or maintenance is required, you never have to worry about meeting these expenses, since the leasing company will take care of it.
- Multiple Year Contracts: If you have not procured the MRI equipment on a lease and are depending on a service for maintaining the equipment, then the best option you have to save some money is to enter into multiple year contracts. The servicing company will normally set a fixed contract price per year for maintaining your equipment. Ask them if they are willing to reduce the price if you take a three year or five-year contract. Generally, the servicing business should be thrilled with longer-term contracts and will most likely offer you a discount in order to get you as a long-term customer.
- Minimize The Cover: If you do not wish to cover any component of the MRI equipment in the maintenance, inform it to the servicing company, and they are likely to reduce the charges. For example, if you have just changed any specific component on the equipment and it already offers a 3-year warranty, then it would be a waste to include it within the coverage offered by the servicing company. The best option is to remove it from the maintenance cover so that you get the reduced charge from the servicing company.
- Combine Multiple Equipment In Coverage: If you have other equipment like X-ray, ultrasound etc., then it is better to combine them under one single maintenance cover. By doing so, you can reduce the charges since the servicing company is getting more business from a single client. You can also enter into multiple term contracts for the various equipment together and get even more benefit.
