Films-regarder.co has been closed following the arrest of its administrator. Known on the pirate scene for his films and his series broadcast illegally in streaming, films-regarder.co was the subject of a complaint by the Alpa (Association against piracy audiovisual). The head of the infrastructure was intercepted by the police, following an investigation by the Regional Judicial Police Department of Bordeaux. The alleged administrator was arrested in Toulouse.

Created in 2013, Films-Regarder.co was one of the largest French-language streaming sites. It attracted a little more than a million unique visitors each month, for about 2.2 million views. These impressive figures, however, precipitated its fall and they placed it directly in the crosshairs of rights holders.The association has just dealt the fatal blow to this hacker service, which had already been subject to a deindexation of Google's search engine following requests from TF1 several series were available on this platform.

According to the statement published by ALPA Films-Regarder.co offered unlimited free access to nearly 800 movies and 700 TV shows, all protected by copyright. The loss suffered by rights holders is estimated at around € 30 million.
