St. Lucia, in the Caribbean, is renowned the world over as the wedding and honeymooners’ top dream destination – especially if you're staying at the exquisite Cap Maison in Smuggler’s Cove. But how does it fare if you’re single, unattached and available? We're here to tell you it's not a problem!

St. Lucia isn’t just for honeymooners, and Cap Maison, and the entire region, has plenty to offer those who aren’t yet headed for wedded bliss. So what do you do when you’re a single on holiday on the island? Here are a few ideas.

Spoil Yourself

Well, you won’t exactly have to do it all yourself! The resort staff have garnered a reputation of providing world-class pampering; sumptuous amenities in an intimate villa resort setting offers and unbelievably luxurious service. This can even include unpacking your bags and a personal butler.

There's also an award-winning, full-service spa in the resort, and being alone is even more relaxing when you spend time meditating in the calming Zen garden, or dipping in the large infinity pool at the edge of the bluff (some suites even have their own pool) - the views are breathtaking.

Take a Walk on the Beach

You know what they say: "It isn’t the destination, it’s the journey." At Cap Maison, that even applies to simple walks to the beach. (Not that the destination, a secluded crescent of sand, isn’t a great experience as well). The resort is situated high on a cliff by eh ocean's edge, and getting to your destination requires a 92-step hike downward.

Once you get to the beach, grab a quick lunch at The Naked Fisherman Beach Bar and Grill, a relaxed beachfront bar complete with thatched roof. Strike up a conversation with other holidaymakers and you may even make some new friends.

If you discover Rock Maison, a private dock on the water’s edge, you can participate in early morning yoga, full-moon meditation and a host of spa treatments. You can even sip cocktails at the Rock Pool, while remaining submerged in seawater.

Zip, Sail Or Hike

Feeling adventurous? Head off and enjoy an adventure enjoy zip lining or a treetop gondola ride. If you're not up to that excitement, many guests prefer to lounge around Rock Maison and enjoy drinks delivered via the Champagne zip line! You can book a sightseeing tour to the sulphur springs at the world's only drive-in volcano, and then marvel at the twin mountain peaks of The Pitons. Rain forest walks and canopy tours are also available, as well as bird watching tours, and hikes. Cap Maison resort also has a 46-foot, 15-passenger powerboat to take guests out to the marvellous Soufrière beach on St. Lucia, or nearby Martinique Bay. Or Propose!

On the other hand, if being single is something you feel like putting an end to, the resort has a wonderful specialty just for you: the Bachelor Proposal package, designed for putting the whirl into a whirlwind romance! There’s even a Proposal Concierge to help ensure your beloved says "yes" - rumour has it, they’ve got a pretty good batting average for would-be grooms.
