Sue just received a call from her dream company. She has wanted to work with them for as long as she could remember. They want to interview her! All the time she has spent sending in applications was finally worth it. In all the excitement she forgot that she just had to find the perfect outfit so that she could nail the interview. Searching through her closet sue realized this would be a more laborious task than she had initially thought. One shirt after the next and nothing was good enough.

This one is too tight, and this one isn’t in current fashion. She just wanted this job so bad. Towards the back of the closet when she had nearly lost all hope, Sue found it. The perfect shirt! It fit just right so she would be comfortable but it was still very professional. She even had a great pair of pants to go with it. It couldn’t get much better. Then it all went downhill.

When she was looking in the mirror trying to choose accessories she saw a huge hole in the side of the shirt that she didn’t notice before. How embarrassing! There’s no way she could wear that to the interview, but she had already spent so much time finding the perfect outfit. It’s already too late to go out and buy a new outfit so she figured she could just fix the hole; how hard could it be?

She never saw the importance in having her sewing machine so she would have to find someone to borrow one from. At first, no one picked up, and when they did, they had an excuse. They didn’t have a machine, or they were too far away to get it to her.

Her perfect night was going downhill. She figured she could drive to her mom’s house and get help from her. She grabbed the shirt and drove the hour to her house. After arriving, Sue was thrilled to find out that her mom would be happy to help her.

Her mom pulled out her what must have been the 1980’s, falling apart sewing machine. Sue just stared at it with disappointment. She realized she was going to need something a little newer and less broken. It’s getting later, and Sue was losing confidence. How could such a great night be going so wrong? When driving home, she happened to notice a 24-hour store. Sue decided to run in, and she could not believe what she saw.

A sewing machine. A real, working sewing machine. She couldn’t believe how her luck was turning around. She purchased it and sped home. It worked amazingly. She was so relieved when she realized that she could fix her shirt after such an exhausting night. After a few minutes, her shirt looked like new.

She tried it on again, and it looked terrific. The next morning she nailed her interview. She had finally gotten the job that she had waited years for. Sue could have had a much different outcome. She could have lost her confidence and not have gotten her job. She luckily found a best sewing machine and could fix her problem.

She had learned her lesson and realized that a sewing machine might be a necessity. It saves people tons of money by fixing clothes instead of buying all new clothes. It also sets unexpected emergencies like holes and tears. Everybody should own a sewing machine because a need for it could show up at any time.
