Is MP3 player still better than a smartphone?

Do you remember times, when almost everyone had an MP3 player? Every modern person wanted to have such a device. However, since smartphones have been created, the market of the MP3 players suffered serious losses.

The reason for this is clear. People don't want to buy two devices when the smartphone can perform all the functions of the MP3 player.

But why then such devices are still on the market, and many companies are releasing more and more new and interesting models of MP3 players. And it is interesting that people more often tend to use not "smart" MP3 players, but very simple models.

So it is found four reasons that will help you understand, whether the MP3 player is really better for playing and storing a music collection.

  1. Most of the MP3 players on the market are much lighter, thinner and cheaper than smartphones. For example, it means it is more comfortable to use in the gym or by cycling.
  2. Some MP3 players have a waterproof case. If you are active, for example, doing sports or working on heavy physical work, then a smartphone is not the best choice. But completely waterproof MP3 models you can take with you not only in the shower but also even in the pool.

3. MP3 music players work pretty longer than smartphones. Absolutely all MP3 players are able to "live" from one charge much longer than the average smartphone running the Android operating system. For example, some MP3 players can work up to 110 hours of music playback without recharging. That's why MP3 players are perfect for traveling and long trips.

4. MP3 players are equipped with physical buttons for switching music ("Next" and "Previous"), volume control, playback, and pause. All this allows you to control the music playback without taking the player out of your pocket. For comparison, to switch the track on the smartphone, you have to get the phone, unlock it and open the player application (if it works in the background).

That's all. I think these four reasons are quite persuasive that MP3 players are still alive and sometimes even better and more comfortable than smartphones.
