If you feel that a skiing holiday is just as much about partying under the stars than it is about shredding powder, Val d’Isère is the perfect resort for you. This is one of the better French resorts for après fun, providing a lively and friendly atmosphere that sweeps all across the town once the sun goes down. It is also easy to reach with one of Shuttle Direct’s ski transfers – Geneva to Val d’Isère is the most convenient route, during which you can sit back and start planning your first night out.

One of the main reasons that Val d’Isère is a premier spot for partying is because of its great variety in drinking establishments. Whether you are looking for a cosy night in at the pub or a wild party in a huge club, Val d’Isère has you covered. Let’s take a look at a few of the best spots for a booze-fuelled good time.

Straight from the Slopes

La Folie Douce – On days when you cannot wait to get the party started, La Folie Douce is your best bet. This famous mountain-side watering hole pumps out music from about 3 pm on the open terrace, attracting people from all around the world for a cracking atmosphere and good times in your ski boots!

Cocorico – This venue certainly gives La Folie Douce run for its money, as it’s the resort’s number 1 slope-side establishment and has the big advantage of being very close to the town. There’s live music or DJs getting the party started around 3 pm on the outside terrace, and this is a great spot to be until it closes at 8 pm.

After you’ve made it down the hill, there are then loads of great options for a top night out. Read on!

Sinking Pints

Cafe Face – This place is the sister bar of La Folie Douce, so you know that you are in for a great night here. Named after the iconic black run in the area, this is a cool bar with cheap drinks and DJs playing late into the night. However, it’s worth noting that the drink prices gradually increase throughout the night, so head here early for some big savings.

The Fall Line – A relatively new drinking spot in Val d’Isère, but one that is quickly becoming a favourite with regulars, is The Fall Line. It hosts some of the best parties in town. During the day, it is a chilled-out cafe with comfy sofas, but once the sun goes down, it transforms into a lively bar with DJs and live music, themed parties and dancing until the early hours of the morning.

Strutting Your Stuff

Dick’s Tea Bar – Still going strong? You will want to be strutting your stuff by now, so head on over to Dick’s Tea Bar, which is one of the most famous clubs in the Alps. Open from 10 pm until 5 am, this place has a packed dance floor every night, on which revellers come to let their hair down.

How to Get There

There are a few ways to reach Val d’Isère, but the most convenient is flying into Geneva Airport (GVA), as there are many flights from the UK. The quickest and easiest way to reach the resort is to book Shuttle Direct’s ski transfers – Geneva to Val d’Isère is a 2.5-hour route, and we even transport your ski gear for no additional charge.

Val d’Isère is an elite place for partying, and you are sure to have a great time here. Get your trip off to a smooth start by booking Shuttle Direct’s ski transfers. Geneva to Val d’Isère is one of our favourite – and most scenic – routes, and will have you shredding powder and sinking pints in no time.
