Hanuman Jayanthi :

Lord Hanuman is a great devotee of Lord Rama. He is the son of Anjana and Kesari. He is also called as Anjaneya, Maruti, Vayuputra, Pavanputra, Bajrangbali and Rambhakta. Lord Hanuman is the symbol of courage, strength and energy. It is believed that he is an incarnation of Lord Shiva. Hanuman Jayanthi Festival is celebrating the birthday of Lord Hanuman. It is also called as Hanuman Janam – Utsav. It is celebrated on full moon day during the month of Chaitra. This year it falls on December 18, 2017. Birth Story Of Lord Hanuman:

Anjana was once a heavenly maiden, her name was apsara – Punjikastala. Once when she was wandering on heavens, she saw a monkey deep in meditation. At the instant, She felt that the monkey acting like a holy sage. She could not control her laughter. She burst out laughing. The sage did not know that someone was laughing at him because he was deep in meditation. Intially he didn’t take any action. But Punjikastala continued her laughing and threw some stones at the monkey to chase it away. Finally the sage lost his patience. He opened his eyes with anger and cursed her that you will become a monkey women. Punjikastala fell at the sage’s feet. I realized my mistake. Please forgive my mistake and take back your curse. The sage told her I could not taken back my word but you will relieved from the curse only if you will give birth to the incarnation of Lord Shiva. After Punjikastala, she was born as Anjana. She married kesari. They had no child. Anjana offering prayers and meditation to Lord Shiva without having any food or water. Lord Shiva impressed her prayers and grant his blessings to them. On the other hand, the king dasharadhar of Ayodhya was performed the yagya to get child. As a result he got the divine sweet. He shared that divine sweet to his three wives. At that time, a kite snatched a fragement of that divine sweet and dropped it. That drop was available in Anjana’s hand. She was ate it. After that Lord Hanuman was born to Anjana and kesari.

Hanuman Jayanthi is one of the popular Hindu festival. On this auspicious day of Hanuman Jayanthi people observe fasting and offering prayers to Lord Hanuman and Lord Rama because Lord Hanuman is a devoted fan of Lord Rama. Special Poojas are conducting in Hanuman Temples. Chanting Hanuman mantra on this day is very auspicious. It helps to get salvation in life. Sindoor is a favourite of Lord Hanuman. Donate Sindoor to the statue of Lord Hanuman is also very auspicious. It gives success to the devotees in all endeavours.
