About the color

It is needless to say that the name of the art form comes from the colors of the items. The blue color of the items is derived using cobalt oxide. At times this art form is also used in green color and that color is obtained from copper oxide. Other than these two popular colors, some of the other basic colors are also included. They are yellow and brown. However, blue still remains the dominating color for most of the products.

How are they made?

The process through which blue pottery items are created can easily be defined as being captivating. Not to forget the process in itself is actually very beautiful. The clay is mixed with multiple items. The elements used are powdered glass, quartz stone powder, Multani mitti, gum, borax, and powder. Then the mound is beaten in a proper manner to flatten it. When done then it is carefully placed into the mold. Then different stone mixtures along with wood ash are mixed. The mold is then removed when the product is semi-dry.Then it is given the intended shape. Finally, the smooth finish is achieved using sandpaper. When done, the desired element is mixed to get proper color and applied to the product with help of a brush. Finally, the product is coated with glaze. Then it is baked at an extremely high temperature after brushing with a mixture of water and maida. When done, the beautiful product is ready for beautiful your home.
