I wasn't quite convinced about the benefits of getting a forex card while travelling. I have always travelled with my parents as a child who preferred to carry cash or even travellers cheque. My friend asked me to read a very short blog piece written by one of her friends. This article on pancardseva - forex-card-go-cashless-abroad. Finally just before my trip to Turkey I decided to go forex card shopping :P I checked out Axis Bank (who were insanely slow) and then headed to HDFC who gave me and option of emailing them with the amount I wanted to get topped up. The travel was a breeze. I was issued two cards. One I kept safely at the hotel and walked around with just one. We used ATMs, we shopped, we ate.. The fear of keeping your bag close while travelling wasn't there any more... So yeah.. Forex cards... the best way pay while you go see the world..
