A sound sleep is secret to good health but as we get older it becomes difficult to fall asleep. Lack of sleep affects your health severely. If you are not able to sleep well, it's time you make some changes in your lifestyle. Here are few things you can do to get a good sleep :

  • Avoid caffeine before going to sleep. Caffeine takes four to six hours to work through your body and consumption of caffeine too late in afternoon and evening will definitely affect your sleep.

  • Make a sleep schedule and stick to it. Have a fixed bedtime and wake up each day. This will help you regulate your body clock and have a uninterrupted sleep.

  • Having a regular workout routine will benefit your sleep. Morning exercise is good but if you don't get time afternoon or evening exercise will also work. Just try to finish the workout two to three hours before bed because exercise will raise your body temperature and body takes some time to cool down after exercise. This can affect your ability to fall asleep.

  • Taking a shower at least an hour and a half before you sleep will benefit your sleep.

  • Decide a relaxing routine activity for yourself just before the bedtime. This activity should not be something that can cause excitement, stress or anxiety as it will make it more difficult to fall asleep. You can listen to soft music, read a book or listen to an audiobook etc.

  • Avoid taking long naps during daytime especially in afternoon. Short naps will make you feel fresh and alert whereas power naps will make you feel lethargic and make it hard to fall asleep.

  • Zero-G beds: Backrest beds allow you to incline your upper body and lower body in most comfortable position. These beds are also called zero-gravity beds because they can be adjusted to a position where the effect of gravity on the body is zero. Pressure or force exerted on the body at this position is zero hence it results in the restful sleep. Backrest bed manufacturers designed this bed by keeping in mind range of medical benefits it provides. With these backrest beds, you are able to raise or lower your legs, upper body and finally can adjust yourself to a position which offers maximum comfort and better blood circulation. Backrest beds in India are especially suitable for people with heart problems and severe back pain. The problem of snoring can also get cured with backrest beds by raising your head a little so you can breathe well and snore less. Backrest bed manufacturers designed this bed such a way that you can watch TV, read a book or use your laptop comfortably on this bed.
