Myopia is a very common condition of the human eye wherein a person is unable to see far off objects with absolute clarity. The person, however, is able to see the objects placed closer to him, which is why this condition is called “near-sightedness”. Myopia occurs when the human eye is elongated to focus images on the retina properly. In Ayurveda, there are effective ayurvedic eye treatment for myopia. Get rid of myopia – see the world without corrective eyewear with the help of Ayurvedic eye treatment.

What Ayurveda has to say about myopia is very plain and to-the-point – an imbalance in the alochak dosha present in the eyes, or the increase in the vata of the eyes is what causes myopic conditions in a person. It is not entirely incurable. Let us understand the different types of myopia that are recognized for Ayurveda treatments.

  • Simple myopia – the eye simply becomes elongated
  • Nocturnal myopia – difficulty in seeing in low light conditions due to which myopia occurs
  • Pseudomyopia – this is a temporary myopia occurring due to high focus, like in video games or reading
  • Degenerative myopia – progressive in nature. It worsens over time.

Ayurveda has many remedies that address the root cause of myopia, and some remedies to alleviate the pains and sensations associated with this condition. Ayurveda professionals believe that chronic cold and constipation lie at the core of myopic people. Only when these conditions are treated will myopia be truly addressed. Below are the treatments available in Ayurveda to treat myopic conditions.
