Cleaning up is the not-so-pleasant activity of the vacation, but is something that is also very important. RVs tend to pick a lot of dirt and grime from RV parks and other camping sites, which can make RV cleaning an unending task.

However, here are some RV cleaning tips and tricks that will make it easier for you to clean up your camper:

Wet/Dry Mop

A wet/dry mop is an indispensable tool for a quick cleaning of wood, laminate and tile flooring. A wet-dry mop comes with a wet microfiber pad and a dry microfiber pad. The wet pad can be rinsed with water or any other multi-purpose cleaner.

The RV should be mopped every day when the RV is in use, and once every week when it is parked in the driveway. Pay special attention to messy areas, like the entryway and kitchen.

Compact Vacuum Cleaner

A compact size cleaner is a must for very RV, regardless of the type of flooring you have. Even if your RV has a central VAC system, a compact size vacuum should be a great addition to the cleaning equipment.

Sometimes you won’t have the power to run the central VAC or you would just feel too lazy to pull out a long hose, in which case a vacuum cleaner will come in handy for a quick cleanup.

Always buy a compact size vacuum that has a lot of attachments for multipurpose use.

Door mats

Always have door mats when you are out camping. This is the best way to reduce the amount of dirt that is brought inside your RV. Either have a door mat outside at the bottom of the stairs, or inside at the entryway, or both.

If you are in a place which has a lot of wet mud in the area, either because of rain or some other reason, place a wet door mat outside and a dry door mat inside. In this way, the shoes will be properly cleaned when you walk in with shoes with wet mud.

Microfiber cloths

Microfiber cloths can be pretty amazing as they can clean almost every surface without leaving a stain or lint. They are soft, absorbent and non-abrasive. They are great for cleaning cupboard doors, light fixtures, surfaces of electrical equipment like fridge, microwave, etc. and ceiling fans.

Multi-purpose cleaners

Since storage is always a problem, a multi-purpose cleaner is the best thing to use for cleaning. There are many types of multi-purpose cleaners available in the market, but you should go for a natural or ‘green’ cleaner. They are free from any harsh chemicals and do not cause premature aging of the surfaces of your RV, along with being eco-friendly.

Cleaning of the interior of your RV doesn’t have to be time consuming and complicated. With a few handy products, you can get rid of the dirt from floors, surfaces and bathrooms with minimum effort.
