With an increase in the cyber attacks, it has become inevitable to keep the cyber network secure and safe. To keep the cyber network safe, there is a need for a proper skilled force that can counter the attacks easily and make the network impenetrable for the future attacks. Day by day new type of methods has been generated by the cyber criminals and a deep know-how and training are required to hunt them down.

GITAM University has taken initiative to make the technocrats of future practically empowered to counter the menace of cyber attack. The University has set up a Cyber Security Lab where the students will be subjected to practices based on countering the cyber attacks and securing the network. Cyber Security is gaining the importance of almost everything is shifting on the internet. Nowadays, from trading to providing the best services internet have built up a strong base for all the transactions. To cater the needs of the cyber security learning, GITAM University has set up very high-end facilities in the lab that will help to keep the focus on penetration testing, network-based hacking, mobile-based hacking, web application hacking and wireless hacking.

Cyber Security field has also taken a fair place in the heart of the students and many students are interested in learning various aspects of this field for which a proper infrastructure is needed. Although, cyber security is a core part of Information Technology but other students of different branches can also utilize the facility if they are interested in learning the techniques of cyber security.

For the students who want to go for higher studies, GITAM University also offers M.Tech (Master of Technology) in cyber security and Cyber Forensics & Information Security. The setup of Cyber Security lab in the premises of the institute has given a due weightage to the courses offered by it. This will help in enhancing the skills of the students studying the field of Cyber security and Cyber Forensics.
