Innovation and Digital Transformation is directly related to the sustainable development. The sustainable development agendas have called for the aim to reduce the pollution, greenhouse gases, increasing the economic opportunity and to eliminate the poverty by all means. To make this in practice, there is a need to impart the innovative techniques in the sustainable projects which bring us to the direction of the lack of technological advancement which has a direct correlation with the innovation.

The root of the innovation lies in how the young brains of the country are processing the technical knowledge that must lead towards the innovation. Another important dimension of the innovation is Digital Transformation. We can say that the digital transformation is itself an integral part of the innovation. With the advent of the Digital India mission, there happens to be a flow of wave of innovation that is supported by the government in different forms be it the subsidiary or tax exemptions.

But there is a need to understand that the roots of the innovation lie in the higher institutions where a proper infrastructure and guidance can be provided to build a force of innovative technocrats. With the changing time, the institutions have come to believe that there is a need to expand the spheres of practices and the students must be directed toward transformation and innovation. The changing picture has to lead the leaders and guides of the institutions to deliberate upon the same. Nitie which is an institution of excellence in the field of industrial engineering held a panel discussion on the Digital Transformation and Innovation for Sustainable Development in which all the important delegates were present. Apart from enlighting the students with the best knowledge, the role of the institutions also extends to stretching the helping hand to the government in establishing the models of innovation and provide them with the insights of the future course that can be implemented in future.

The Digital Transformation and innovation for the sustainability involves the ranging perspectives from digital revolution to value addition to the world. It also includes a range of concerns pertaining to emerging cyber security challenges to other challenges of the sustainability. The panel discussion of the NITIE made a huge impact on the students who had attended the discussion and helped them to widen their perspective towards the technology and the need of the challenging world. It must be clear in the minds of the students and the mentors that the institution is one of the real drivers of the sustainable development.
