Best sheet gaskets in the whole of america (by asp)
Posted: Jan 25, 2018
A gasket is a mechanical seal which fills the space between two or more joining surfaces, which is generally done to prevent leakage from or into the joined objects while they are put under compression.
Gaskets are applied on machine parts to fill irregularities.
Non-asbestos gasket sheet is very durable, of multiple materials, and thick in nature. Examples of such materials include mineral, carbon or nitrile synthetic rubber. Applications using sheet gaskets involve acids, corrosive chemicals, steam or mild caustics.
Majority of the companies producing gasket materials, use fiberglass, aramid, Kevlar or miner fiber. They are used as tight sealants for packaging and are provide good oil, chemical or water transfers. "Gasket Material" has a wide range of Non-asbestos Sheet Gasket Materials for your personal and commercial applications.
There are 4 Style based Sheet Gasketing Materials are available.
SBR BASED SG:
Our most common gasket material: Green gasket sheet material. It has a nitrile binder with aramid fiber, which provides great strength and pressure resistance. It is a great option for many industrial and automotive applications. GSG comes in both unbranded and branded styles, which includes Thermosil (Klinger-UK) styles, and Durlon Gasket Resources sheet.
Our style ASP GSG is a high quality general service sheet, which are manufactured with synthetic sheet and used for sealing against oils, solvents, fuels, non-aggressive solutions, and provide service conditions up to 750°F. it is available in thicknesses from 1/64" through 1/4".
Features of this service sheet involve-
a) Aramid Fibers with NBR binder
b) Excellent general service sheet
c) Available in 59" x 63" & 59" x 126" sheets
d) Available in thicknesses of 1/64", 1/32", 1/16", 3/32", 1/8", 3/16" and 1/4"
FMI-280:
FMI-280 is a premium quality general service gasket material, which is made with synthetic fibers and an NBR binder. FMI makes an excellent flexible and durable sheet that has the capability to handle more temperature than an average sheet gasket material. It is the best option, and is highly recommended to be used in sealing against oils, solvents, fuels, and non-aggressive solutions.
NBR BASED SG:
Gasketing A is a premium grade gasket material manufactured with synthetic fibers and NBR binders. It is more suited for severe applications in sealing oils, solvents, fuels, mild acids and alkalis.
ULTRA HIGH TEMPERATURE SG:
It is a sheet gasket produced by compression of carbon fiber gasket materials at high temperatures (rated for 900F). It is best suited for steam applications, water, fuels, lubricant alkalis and weak acids, put under high temperature and pressure.

If it was possible to manufacture flanges with perfect smoothness and polish, and if it were possible to maintain these surfaces in permanent contact with each other, then we simply wouldn't need gaskets. Unfortunately, this is an impossible thing to take place, which results from several factors such as:
- The size of the vessel and/or flanges.
- Difficulty in maintaining these surfaces while handling and their installing.
3. Corrosion or erosion of the surface with passing time.
To overcome these factors we use gaskets, which fill these surface imperfections and allow for reliable fluid sealing.
American Sealing and Packing (ASP) provide a wide variety of these gasket materials and gives you a reliable platform to meet your needs at a good price range.
