Plastic pipes are largely implemented and installed in residential and industrial areas so that the supply of water can take place effortlessly. Plastic pipes are synthetic polymers pipes. In almost all kinds of plumbing solutions, metals pipes have been replaced by plastic pipework. Metal pipes were not proving to be efficient and effective in supplying water, as a variety of factors like environmental changes, temperature and pressure variations, chemical susceptibility, etc were affecting them. Even in the case of concrete pipes, which were installed for the supply of water, used to break up while they were getting installed. Handling of these metal and, concrete pipes was an issue too.

What are CPVC pipes?

It is important to consume hygienic water and pipes which enable the supply of potable water must always be of high-quality. In recent times, a drainage system is implemented with plastic pipes and fittings. All the pipes, in above-ground as well as underground drainage systems, are made up of synthetic plastic. Plastic pipes have proved out to be a better alternative than concrete and metal pipes, as these are free from all the demerits which largely occurred in latter. Majorly, plastic pipes are made up of polyvinylchloride. A CPVC pipe is a variant of PVC pipes which are used in the supply of potable/drinking water.

Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride Pipes and their advantages:

CPVC pipes stand for chlorinated polyvinyl chloride pipes. These pipes are designed in such a way that these can be applied in industrial as well as the residential areas efficiently. While manufacturing, these pipes are chlorinated. Chlorination of these pipes helps in the supply of water through them without the risk of being impure or unsafe for consumption. A plastic pipe which is made up of PVC is made flexible. Flexibility enables that these can be easily installed in all kinds of areas. Even in the pipework that is done in houses for the supply of drinking water, CPVC pipe is put in effect.

Chemical resistance: a CPVC Pipe is resistant to a range of chemicals. As these pipes are installed in drainage systems, these are exposed to a lot of chemicals which can hamper the flow of water and also, their mixing with potable water can make it unsuitable for water.

Anti-bacterial: these pipes are free from any microbial growth which leaves the water hygienic as it was before.

Anti-corrosive: a CPVC pipe and all the other forms of a plastic pipe are free from getting corroded and are rust proof. As these are made up of plastic, the scraping off of its layers is out of the question. Being anti-corrosive, these pipes can supply pure water.

Strong and rigid: a drainage pipe which is made up of synthetic plastic is stronger in comparison to other pipes. They can easily handle the huge pressure variations of the water flow.

A CPVC pipe is superior to all other water supply pipes. Manufacturing of plastic pipes is a comparatively cheaper process than the manufacturing of metal and concrete pipes. The CPVC pipe price is higher than other plastic pipes but is lesser in comparison to heavy metal pipes. Plastic pipes and fittings are emerging superior to the traditional metal pipes, making its use acceptable worldwide.
