Recently, Avesta was briefly listed as number 1 digital coin ICO on the Crypto Coffee Index. As we know, this index indicates the likelihood of its adoption as a small payment currency (money) and not just as a store of values or large scale payment.

This is great development because the company is still relatively new in comparison to other players on the chart. It is an indicative sign that the company has addressed user challenges and put out better solutions than its competitors. It also shows that Avesta can compete against closed source distributed ledgers.

"Coin Burn" phase ongoing

The company is in the process of destroying the old coins that were mined from the Platform operation phase.

NB: ICO platform already ran on Avesta Blockchain technology so mining was necessary to prevent all the transactions from happening. Now we have successfully purchased the real AVE via the ICO for all future purposes, the company is tidying up final AVE transfers to ICO wallets, investors and transferring all unsold coins. Cryptocurrency mining is a weapon race.

Civic for identity registration, protection and KYC is currently being implemented and we are working on enabling transfers between AVE accounts for the web wallet.

"Checkpoints" improve synchronisation of Blockchain

Last week, our developers made an update to the Blockchain, implementing "checkpoints" in the system to screen and segment all pre-mined blocks into a single file for more rapid syncronization of Blockchain.

The effort was a huge success, and in coming years we plan to revisit this technique to improve Blockchain performance.
