Eyewear is in fashion today. More and more people are making a beeline to their neighborhood optical store for a stylish pair of glasses – be it for prescription purposes or just to look chic. Opticians need to provide a complete range of eyewear that can suit the tastes and style preferences of all kinds of customers.

Following are the broad types of wholesale designer glasses frames that every optician must have in their store:

  • Full rimmed – This frame fully encloses the lens to form a sturdy set of spectacles. The material of the frame can be plastic, acetate, metal or even titanium. There is a large scope for varying the shape and size of the frame. Full rimmed eyeglasses look sharp and make a bold statement. This robust style is the most common as it suits most people and even works well will different prescriptions.
  • Half rimmed – This is a lighter variation of the full rimmed frame style where the rim is featured usually on the top half of the lens. The bottom of the lens may be supported by a nylon cord or the lens may even be drill mounted negating the need for support. Half rimmed frames are durable even as they provide subtle definition to the face. It is especially preferred by people with sensitive skin as the frame will not rest on the bottom cheeks. The frames are available in different materials and can be customized for various prescriptions.
  • Rimless – This is a sleek and minimalistic look as there is no frame around the lens at all. They create the barely-there feel as the glasses are not very noticeable. Rimless spectacles are also very lightweight and therefore, suitable for people who have to wear them all the time. These low-profile glasses are usually made of metal or titanium. They require careful handling because of the inherently delicate nature. In fact, they go with high index lenses or low prescription power only.
  • Half eye – These are reading glasses for people with near vision issues. They usually feature a half rim only on the bottom part of the lens as they sit low on the nose while reading or doing other detailed tasks. Thus they do not hamper distant vision either. They are usually by prescription but can look quite stylish too. Similarly, computer glasses are also available to reduce the glare from computer screens.
Sunglasses – This is an entirely different category of eyewear as they are mostly used to protect the eyes from the harsh glare of the sun. Yet they form the most stylish category of eyewear. People are opting for powered sunglasses too so that they can protect themselves from the sun and continue to look fashionable without affecting their vision in any manner. The protective range of wholesale designer glasses frames is broad and features sports, swimming and dust protection variants too.
