Challenges faced after pursuing engineering education in India

There has been a tremendous increase in the number of engineers in India. Most of these engineers face various problems in their carrier after they have completed their technical education. Majority of engineering colleges in India are producing engineers in a large amount without considering the fact that whether they are employable or not. After pursuing engineering education many of students either left unemployed or faced difficulties for getting placed in MNC's. It is of the utmost need that college focuses on the factors that will help the students to secure a deserving job and flourish their carrier. The top engineering colleges in Nagpur now focus on creating employable engineers by training them for advanced skills along with their study curriculum that is necessary while applying for a job. A list of challenges faced by students while pursuing engineering is given below.

Language barrier

Students who have completed their studies in the different medium of languages apply for pursuing an engineering degree and end up facing age-old issues of language understanding and fluency. Majority of students in engineering colleges face this problem as the whole engineering syllabus is in English language and not each and every student is able to understand as much. Thus it is necessary that the lecturers in the college should clear the doubts faced by the students and solve their queries by interacting with them in an understandable language.

Learning capacity of students differ

Students who have scored 40% and those who have scored 90%, all have to sit in one thus the grasping power of students may vary. The students must be reached up to on their level and queries faced by them must be solved by the corresponding lecturers.

Lack of practical knowledge

The students are falling behind in acquiring practical knowledge. Many students face the same issue that even though they are doing well in theoretical learning, they lack in the knowledge regarding practical implementation. Deficiency in industrial interaction

There has been a drastic reduction in the employment rate among the engineering colleges. The college curriculum should also focus on the development of skills that will help them get hired. The college should also train their students for other factors as well that will help them in their interviews.

Majority of the students fall behind in the knowledge of technical skills required while applying for any company. Engineering college should focus on filling the skill gap by enhancing the implementation of technical skills.

Placement hurdles

There are various issues faced by the engineers before and after their placement. Even though the students have been placed at a reputed company they have to face many problems like less salary than what they expected, not getting jobs in the industries they aspire for. The major factor that affects the employment rate is the reputation of the college and the history of the college regarding placements. The students should definitely check for the history of the college before opting to get admission there.
