Subaru dealers in Australia have set an annual sales record for 2017 in a recently released report. Subaru has seen impressive gains that have captured more in key segments that are encouraging signs of growth in the future. New models introduced in 2017 have played a part in this success along with promotions that were carried out throughout the year. Let’s take a closer look at how these sales figures break down and examine the areas where Subaru had the most dramatic sales successes.

The Official VFACTS Figures

The Subaru sales stood at 48,379 models for the year to date (YTD), and this was a significant milestone for the company here in Australia. The Subaru brand had already broken its annual sales record by the end of November 2017 with a full retail month in December remaining. The November sales figures reported by VFACTS where a total of 4,265 sales throughout the month and this put Subaru ahead of the 2016 total by 1,361 units sold. In fact, Subaru has now enjoyed 35 months of consecutive growth in the Australian car market. This is astonishing when you consider the quality of their rivals offerings and the global economic uncertainty.

Subaru Sales Growth

Subarus have increased by 12.2% TRD, which is impressive, but not a true representation in isolation of how well the company is progressing. As a whole, the entirety of the Australian market only increased in sales by 0.6% in comparison.

At the head of this sales charge was the brand new Subaru XV which racked up sales of 1,111 units which is an increase of 36.5% for November and 18.6% for the 2017 YTD. This was closely followed by the latest generation Subaru Impreza with 909 units sold, an increase of an astonishing 179.2% YTD. The WRX sold 269 units and was up 26.9% for the months followed by the BRZ coupe with 61 units sold and an increase of 184.3% YTD.
