Weather

The best time to visit Atlanta is in the spring, from March to May. The weather is pleasant, with average highs in the 60s and 70s, and there are lots of popular festivals and events scheduled. Summers in "Hotlanta" are notoriously hot and humid with average high temperatures in the upper 80s. Winters see average highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s but can include ice storms which will severely impact travel.

Getting Around

Atlanta is a home to the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, an international hub and one of the busiest airports in the world. Once you arrive here, there are multiple options to get you to your conference. Atlanta’s public transportation system, and the best way to get around is MARTA. MARTA offers rail and bus service from the airport and around town. Fares for each have a flat rate of $2.50 for a one-way trip. Another option to reach popular sights downtown is the Atlanta Streetcar. You can pay $1 for a one-way ride or just $3 for a one-day pass. Rental cars are also available at the airport, but traffic is hectic and the city can be difficult to navigate. Taxis are plentiful at the airport, and Atlanta also has the ride-sharing companies Uber and Lyft.
