Wearing a saree is a heavy task in itself and requires sufficient amount of practice when it comes to carrying it off before you step out wearing in the public as you need to be able to manage it well. Be it the beginner or someone who has been wearing the saree for a pretty long time now, there are certain tips that should be kept in mind so that as to avoid any blunder when you happen to wear it. 1. Choosing the wrong fabric

Certain fabrics such as paithani, kanjeevaram, and kota-cotton are somewhat heavier in nature and are not flowy which makes them slightly uncomfortable if you are not used to wearing such saris. Also, wearing them during warm weather would only add to the misery, thus it is advisable that you choose a fabric according to the present surroundings along with the comfort. Try out fabrics such as chiffons, satins, and crepes which are lighter in weight and you would be able to carry them off easily.

2. Over-accessorizing

It is not necessary that you have to wear all the jewelry all at once and instead you should wear only the necessary pieces that would look elegant and minimalist. Keep in mind that you match the jewelry with the embroidery on the saree so that the entire look does not appear odd. In case of a heavy saree, it is always advisable that you choose something which is minimal and on the other hand for a one-toned outfit, go for a statement piece such as a necklace or earrings that would be enough to complement the look.

3. Do not wear the saree too high or too low

Make sure that you tie the saree in proportion to the middle portion of your body and do not cover it up way too much or wear the saree low enough that might appear odd. Also, it is advisable that you check yourself in the mirror so that you have an idea if the saree is tied well enough and would not lead to an awkward situation. Always be sure that the saree is tied properly and is in place so that you can walk in it comfortably.

4. Wearing the wrong blouse

Blouse needs to be well-fitted along with a proper stitching so that it does not look odd with the saree. You should make sure that to choose a proper neckline and cut in the blouse along with the saree that you would be wearing on a certain occasion. Also, you need to get the sleeves tailored accordingly so that the entire look of the outfit comes out gracefully. Avoid wearing odd colors in the blouse along with the saree and always choose something which is well-coordinated.
