SSAW Steel Pipe corrosion knowledge

As a manufacturer of our pipelines, we will naturally come in contact with different users of pipelines. Some of them need bare tubes, and some of them need pipe processing to wear caps and flanges! Among them, the corrosion protection of steel pipes is a common type of spiral welded pipe that customers need. Now I will briefly introduce the preservation of steel pipes for you.

First of all, to avoid the corrosion protection technology of the SSAW steel pipe

from soil, air and transmission medium (oil, natural gas, etc.). Most of the pipelines for transporting oil and gas are in a complex soil environment, and the medium they transport is also corrosive. Therefore, the inner wall and outer wall of the pipeline may be corroded. Once the pipeline is corroded and perforated, it will cause oil and gas to leak, which will not only interrupt the transportation but also pollute the environment. It may even cause fire and cause damage. According to statistics from the US pipeline industry, direct losses due to corrosion in 1975 amounted to 600 million U.S. dollars. Therefore, preventing pipeline corrosion is an important part of pipeline engineering.

Then the steel pipe 3PE outer coating technology:The study of the three-layer polyethylene anticorrosion coating of the pipeline started at the end of the 20th Mountain in the late 1970s. The application success began in Europe in the early 1980s. The corrosion protection layer of the spiral welded pipe has excellent comprehensive anti-corrosion performance. After years of application, it has achieved very good application results and is a good anti-corrosion coating. Many countries in the world have been applied for development, especially in European countries, and their applications have been increasing year by year.

The SBS structure refers specifically to the outer layer of the pipe, which is composed of epoxy powder, small interlayer, synthetic adhesive, and outer layer of polyethylene or polypropylene, abbreviated as 3PE or 3PP. Polyethylene material has stable performance, strong insulation ability against corrosive media, and high mechanical strength. However, due to the fact that polyethylene has no polarity and strong polarity, the dry-end strength of the steel surface is too weak, and the protective ability of the pipeline coating using only polyethylene is seriously flawed. The 3PE anti-corrosion layer passes the "bridge" effect of synthetic adhesives and epoxy powders. The problem of adhesion between polyethylene and steel surfaces has been solved from the root umbrella, which is what the industry calls a "perfect coating" 3PF coating that needs to be prefabricated under factory conditions.

Modern steel pipe coating workshops use mechanical water production lines to produce coated steel pipes. Many coating production lines have the ability to paint a variety of pipeline coatings, can be polyethylene, 3PE (or 3PP), single-layer fusion-bonded epoxy (FBE), sintered epoxy (DP5) pipeline coating Equipment. These production lines include steel pipe transmission systems, surface treatment systems, abrasive and dust collection and treatment systems, steel pipe heating systems, powder coating spraying systems, plastic extrusion coating systems, water cooling systems, end cutting systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, inspections System and electronic control system.
