Single dads! Sources of monumental strength, caregivers, virtual supermen and basically an amalgam of the purest emotions that a parent commands in a child’s life. Your father is perhaps your biggest inspiration. He is a single dad. It’s not easy for him.

If your mom has passed away or is living separated from your father, then chances are that he is still grappling with a lot of emotions. Make sure you’re going the extra mile to celebrate this Father’s Day in a memorable fashion! If you’re running out of ideas, then we have some for you! Read on!

Start early

The longer the celebrations—the more memorable they are. Make sure that you’re not really restricting your celebrations to the best father’s day gifts. Buy gifts and make sure that you are planning at least an intimate celebration – with – of course- your dad taking the center-stage.

Make sure that even if you have planned a lunch or dinner outside, the celebrations begin from the morning itself. Start off by decorating your house. Make tea for him before he wakes up, volunteer to prepare the breakfast (some role reversal on the cards!!) and basically try to come up with as many unique ideas as is possible.

Choose a gift thoughtfully!

Look up online and you’ll actually come across multiple stores providing cakes, chocolates, flowers, and gifts especially customized for Father’s Day. Make sure you’re weighing your options. Do look up same day flower delivery services as well. Make sure if you’re choosing flowers for your dad, you’re only getting in touch with the stores that have garnered the reputation of collaborating with the most trustworthy vendors out there—the ones that have the long-standing reputation of offering only the freshest of blooms.

Is it something which your dad needs at this moment? An electric shaver? Or for that matter a wallet? Or a sturdier mobile case? Look out for custom options online!

Spend time with him

Gifts there will be! Lunch, dinner and brunch there will be! However, do ensure that you’re spending time with him. Cancel appointments with friends (if any). Give a miss to your coaching or extra-curricular activities.

Spend the entire day with him – chatting, cooking and planning unique surprises for him. For instance, you can always go on to time all your Father’s Day gifts differently. Let him be surprised by turns. So, if it’s you ordering an online gift for your dad, ask your brother to cook something interesting for him when he is least expecting it.

Do not miss a chance to thank him for what he is doing for you!

Last but not the least you can wrap up the day by writing a Thank You note and placing it right beside his bed—a "Thank You" note expressing your gratefulness—a note acknowledging the fact that he has been great at what he has been doing all these years –i.e. raising his kids all by himself. Tell him you aspire to be the wizard that he is.
