A Nissan Coupe 370Zki Snowmobile?

A new Nissan coupe 2018 was recently revealed that we will see at the forthcoming Chicago Motor Show. This is a fun one off model named the Nissan 370Zki, and it’s the latest in a long line of purpose built concept cars designed to turn heads. The Zki suffix is a clue to the purpose of this open top Coupe with a twist; it’s a snowmobile. Yes, you read that right, this car is a fully functioning Coupe Snowmobile, intrigued? The Nissan 370Zki

This car is based on the Nissan 370zroadster and as one would expect it’s pronounced as the "370 ski". It is a fully functional snowmobile with sporty yellow and orange bodywork that was supplied by Icon Image Graphics. The 370Zki is fitted with rear snow tracks and skis up front for traversing snow. The "Dominator" tracks were supplied by American Track Truck Inc., and the entire drivetrain needs to be removed before the installation could take place. A custom lift kit was needed to accommodate those massive rear tracks and skis making the 370Zki 76mm higher than the standard 370Z roadster.

The Modifications Continued

There are many more modifications that are needed to make the 370Zki work in snowy conditions. The brake lines had to be rerouted, and the exhaust system required significant modification just to get it fitted underneath the vehicle. The front suspension was modified to handle the higher ride height with adaptors to create adequate rotation for the travel of the front skis. The headlights were tinted yellow in an effort to mimic the look of ski goggles, and a custom skid plate was needed to protect the underside.

The Nissan Perspective

The Nissan 370Zki continues what is now almost a tradition of Nissan showing imaginative winter orientated vehicles at the Chicago Auto Show. However, this vehicle is a working model, and it was put through its paces in Wyoming. Previous efforts in this field, include the Warrior snowmobile from 2016 and last years Rogue Trail Warrior.
