Packing For a Cruise? Kimberley Expert Advice

Posted: Jun 05, 2018
Whether you’ve already taken a cruise or a complete novice, Kimberley cruising can be a novel experience, so you need to ensure that you pack accordingly. Fortunately, we have some packing tips, tricks and hacks to help you.
Pack Individual Outfits
While a beach holiday can allow you to mix and match outfits, it is a little different with a cruise. Kimberley offers a wide range of holiday opportunities including great swimming holes, sightseeing, excellent restaurants and superb hikes. This means that you need to pack for each of these occasions. You can stay organised by packing individual outfits into large ziploc bags, to keep your clothing and accessories together. Just be sure to squeeze out all the air when you close the bag to save space in your luggage.
Think Crease Free
Most vessels don’t allow irons in the rooms, besides no-one wants to spend their holiday stuck at the ironing board. So, it is a good idea to think about avoiding creases as you pack. Fold your delicate items in tissue paper or pack clothing that is not vulnerable to creasing.
Keep Your Accessories Safe
Small accessories, particularly earrings tend to disappear on a trip. This means you need to take action to keep your accessories safe. There is no need take an expensive jewellery box, as you can use a cheap pill box to great effect. You can even use it to stay organised by having the section for a particular day correspond to an outfit you plan on wearing.
Roll Your Clothing
While convention suggests folding clothes in your luggage, rolling can actually be far more effective. Rolling each item of clothing not only saves space, but also helps your clothing to stay free of creases. You can also roll small items inside shoes to pad out smaller items such as chargers to save even more space.
Spring Clean Your Wallet
Most of us carry around our whole world in our purse or wallet. From credit cards to loyalty cards, receipts and vouchers, you can end up with a very bulky wallet that is not necessary on your holiday. So, in preparation for your cruise, Kimberley visitors should have a little spring clean. Remove all your loyalty cards, receipts and any credit cards you won’t be using on your cruise.
Ensure Your Liquids are Leak Free
We all travel with creams, lotions, shampoos, and soaps that can cause a real mess if they leak inside a suitcase. Fortunately, you can avoid these problems by placing liquids, creams, and lotions into smaller containers with a childproof cap. You can also create another barrier of protection with some plastic wrap. Place the plastic over your open bottle and screw the top to seal in any liquid.
