A lot of plastic poly bags are used in the world nowadays as they have a consistently high demand due to their versatility and toughness. Plastic bags can be used to carry most if not all basic necessities as well as being easily repurposed for other tasks. Plastic poly bags are also cheap and can be used for multiple purposes but the process of manufacturing the plastic bags must be done using proper equipment.

Plastic bags are easy to manufacture if you have a good plastic bag manufacturing machine.

Did you know that nearly around 1 trillion plastic bags are manufactured every year?

The Extrusion Process

The extrusion process is the first step towards producing a plastic bag. An extruder is utilized to heat up the polyethylene plastic to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. This temperature melts down the plastic pellets after which the molten plastic is pushed into the machine and a die that determines the thickness that the plastic bag has to have. After which the plastic film is pushed and blown into a bubble by the outside air which is also part of the cooling process. The blown out plastic film is then cut into the appropriate size and placed onto a spindle.

The Conversion Department

Once the plastic bag is put on the spindle then it is in the conversion department. The conversion department then unwraps the plastic film roll and cuts it according to the measurements with a hot knife as well as sealing the sides of the bags together. After which the conversion department adds all the special features to the bags such as cutting out the handles and the logos.

Creating Plastic Bags

Producing a plastic bag is a simple and easy process that any company can do without facing any major trouble if they have the correct plastic manufacturing equipment. Thousands of plastic bags can be produced every minute depending on the machinery which keeps the price of the plastic bags very affordable.

5 Advantages of Producing Plastic Bags

1. They are durable

2. Very affordable costs

3. Water resistant/water proof as they can withstand most any weather conditions

4. Plastic bags require less energy to produce as they are easier and lighter to transport as well as easier and less energy intensive to recycle

5. Plastic also have multiple purposes and can be re-used and repurposed many times over

4 Disadvantages of Plastic Bags

1 Plastic bags are a non-renewable resource

2 Plastic bags are also pretty flimsy and do not sit as well as cloth or paper bags

3 Plastic bags are dangerous to wildlife but only if not disposed of properly

4 Plastic bags also tend to block up our drainage systems in heavy rains which can cause flooding

Plastic bags do have their own set of disadvantages as do most other types of bags made of other materials but they also have a lot more advantages than the other types of bags available as well. Plastic bags are easy to recycle, even when they are being produced from recycled materials and can be used again as brand new bags which have the same quality and performance as virgin bags. This is not the case with recycled paper or cloth bags which do not have the same quality or strength as their virgin predecessors. But plastic bags will only have an edge over paper and cloth bags if a proper plastic bag making machine is used to produce and recycle them. I hope this article gives you a better insight on the advantages of manufacturing and using plastic bags.
