Canon Customer Service Comes Through Again

One of the most frequent questions I asked was which printers I was using. In fact, I have the Canon 8100 and the Epson 3880, and we enjoy it for different reasons. One aspect of Canon that I mentioned here before, I still admire is customer support.

I use a lot my iPF8100, which is really a functional character printer. Last week I made over 60 large prints for Scenic Hudson, and I did not have a single problem or problem. However, while preparing to start another print project, I got a "clean print head" and "if the error persists", replacing the print head. One difference between Epson and Canon is that Epson uses Piezo headers that cannot be replaced, but last longer. When the head goes, so does the printer. On the other hand, Canon uses replaceable thermal heads, which gives the printer a longer life. Another advantage (at least for me) is that because the heads can be replaced, there are frequent nozzles so that when one shot fails, the printer can change to another. The drawback is that when the nozzles are exhausted, the head must be replaced. But because the truck almost never comes close, it does not have to be cleaned nearly as much as it provides that valuable resource more valuable than the gold that appears in ink.

I already replaced the print header (R) a year ago, so I was surprised when I received the error. Although it was late at night, I called the Canon service and they were pretty quick and helpful online technicians who were testing me some tests and diagnostic procedures. I checked that the print head was wrong and they offered to send me a free replacement. Best of all, it is shipped overnight so you can reprint as soon as possible.

When you earn a living with the team in which you invest, it's great to know that the company appreciates this trust. I try to reconcile companies and organizations that treat their clients in the same way that my clients treat them with respect, of all kinds.

Nobody is perfect, but I know again why I will choose a Canon printer again when it is time to upgrade to large print. I have a 60-inch printer in business for 2013!

By the way: in case you're intrigued, the reason for the existence of Canon and Epson is that Epson prints without limits on cutting sheets, which Canon does not use. I often need this feature for note cards and other small marketing materials. Canon stays loaded with twists that speed up printing and distributes the workload on both printers.
