Avoid the following while taking these drugs: alcoholic beverages, which may increase triglyceride levels risking liver damage; eating foods with high cholesterol or fat levels; grapes and grapefruit juice, which could interact with medication.

  • Memory or confusion problems
  • Nausea
  • Muscle pains or weakness

  • Spironolactone
  • Antidepressants

  • Other 'statin' drugs; or
  • Birth control pills among other drugs
