5 Additions You need to Make to Your Garden Today!
Posted: Jul 16, 2018
Everyone dreams of a nice fascinating garden with colourful flowers and leaves. However, not everyone has the space for a huge well-groomed lawn or garden. People with limited garden space try to incorporate pots and plants in their balconies and other small open areas of the house.
But not anymore!
We will tell you five ways you can make even that small space look like the garden of your dreams.
#1. Lanterns and Lights
Have you ever noticed those dream-like gardens in movies, hotels, and rooftop restaurants? A commonality between them is the lighting effect they use to enhance the greenery and its aesthetics. Add fairy lights around the railing, inside old bottles and jars, on top of your plants, or just anywhere that you prefer. Alternatively, you can hang a few lanterns, bought or DIY-ed.
#2. Miniature Gardens
This one is so versatile and can be used in any possible space, big or small. You can create a fantasy land using fairy garden fairies, miniature houses, benches, fences, signboards, etc. You can also experiment with various themes like of Halloween, using spooky miniatures; Farm life, by adding small animal showpieces, a miniature barn; Antique, wherein you can add worn out miniature benches, gates, cycles, cars, etc. This idea is very diverse and never fails to impress anyone.
#3. Canopy
A canopy or any type of sitting area is not only practical but also adds to the appeal of the garden. It comforts the onlooker and gives you a space to relax while surrounded by greenery. In bigger garden spaces, seating is easier to add. In case of indoors, however, it becomes a task. We suggest you turn a small corner into a seating area, or add just a single antique-looking chair, or simply add a carpet and throw small pillows if it’s a balcony, so you can easily remove it when not required. Even if you have kept pots and other miniature décor items on your window sill, you can make the curtains look like a canopy by tying them on the sides or adding a seating below the window.
#4. Water source
Adding a source of water, whether a fountain or a quirky vessel, it not only gives the garden an aesthetic appeal but also helps your chirpy friends to quench their thirst whenever they want. Similarly, bird feeders or miniature pots with grains add that hint of charm.
#5. Paint your pots and go experimental
Make sure your garden reflects your style. Keep the pots white if you wish to evoke a sense of serenity or go experimental and colour your pots, make different patterns and designs, pick different sizes to create a dramatic effect. You can also use varied materials like concrete, plastic, ceramics, etc. depending on your liking and the overall look. It is your personal space, so make it the way you’ve always dreamed it to be.
All these ideas are very versatile and affordable and can be implemented both indoors and outdoors. Whether the space is as large as a terrace, or as small as a window pane, you can always play with different themes, materials and sizes to make your garden area your favourite relaxation spot!
