Posted: Jul 18, 2018
Do you consider yourself a singer? Are you one of those who dreams of becoming the next Indian Idol? Or do you wish to have your own album someday? Well, if you do have these desires and believe in yourself, then you’ve already taken the first step to achieve your goal! One of the key requirements of becoming a professional singer is to constantly work on improving your singing skills. This pursuit entails dedication, discipline, patience and hard work. If you regularly practice under the able guidance of a guru, then you’ll surely be able to pursue playback singing in Indore. Today, we’ll tell you about five ways which will generously aid you in honing your singing abilities.
Warm-up before singing
Just at every dancing school in Indore requires students to warm-up prior to their practice, you too need to warm up properly before singing those sweet numbers. If you’re experiencing cracks in your voice while singing or if your throat hurts after singing, that’s a direct sign that you need to warm up extensively before the next session. Your vocal cords need a little wake-up call before you actually begin to sing.
Practice of 30-minutes a day is a must!
You can readily improve your singing if you practice well each day. By practice, we do not mean singing to the tunes of Maroon 5 or A R Rahman’s songs for barely five minutes a day! You need to properly practice (no tardiness!) for at least 30 minutes each day. This will make your vocal cords stronger but do take care not to overdo it.
Do you mind recording your voice?
Well, most people cringe when they hear their voice in a video or recorder. It’s so different (and not a good different), right? However, if you’re blessed to have a melodious voice, then you’ll have no issues listening to it time and again! A great way to check what mistakes you’ve made and if the pitch you took was perfect, you should record your voice whenever you begin singing. Even the best acting school in Indore recommend this as it helps to monitor your progress and correct the faults any faults.
Know how to use your body
Your breathing style or pattern while you’re singing heavily impacts you’re the way you sound. Therefore, you should learn to use your body muscles, posture and breathing pattern in a way that enhances your singing. Keep your chin down to sound better, control your breath, keep any tensions in the neck or shoulders aside and unlock any stiffness in your knees. Let the music flow within you!
What goes into your body matters too!
To improve your singing, you should take care of your health. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day helps to keep the sound-producing membranes stay hydrated. Avoid spicy food, an overdose of caffeine, alcohol and stay clear of smoking.
Follow these simple tips, and we’re sure you’ll improve your singing eventually. Remember, good things take time. So, practice well and don’t ever quit!
