First of all, I want to clarify that there is a huge difference between sebaceous filaments and blackheads. Sebaceous filaments are the small collection of dead skin cells which found around the hair follicles. Generally, they are of white or pale yellow in color. However, it is important to know that you are not able to permanently get rid of lubricating filaments because they are not skin problems.

Home Remedies For Sebaceous Filaments

Baking Soda

To reduce sebaceous filaments just use baking soda. By apply the paste of baking soda onto your face will help you to get rid of sebaceous filaments. First of all properly wash your face with lukewarm water. Then apply baking soda paste on it and leave it for 15-20 minutes. Then wash your face again with lukewarm water. Repeat this remedy 2 -3 times in a week.

Egg White

It helps in tightening your skin and also prevent several skin problems. It also increases your skin tone. Just apply the plain yogurt on your face and leave it for 15 minutes. Then rinse it off with normal water.

Benzoyl Peroxide

Benzoyl peroxide is also used to remove sebaceous silaments by removing the dead skin cells. First, wash your face with lukewarm water and then make it dry using the clean towel. Then apply benzoyl peroxide directly to the affected area. After a few minutes rinse it off with lukewarm water.

Mineral Oil

Mineral oil is very effective for treating the skin problem. It also helps in it treating sebaceous filaments. Take a few amount of mineral oil and apply it directly to the affected area. Repeat this remedy 2 times in a day.

Clay Mask

The clay mask will reduce the marks of the sebaceous filaments. It helps in removing the dead skin cells from the upper layer of skin. Take a clay powder and add a few amount of rose water in it. Then apply this clay mask to your affected area. Finally, rinse it off with normal water after 15-20 minutes.

Charcoal Mask

It works the same as a clay mask. The charcoal mask helps your skin by removing dead skin cell. You can use a charcoal mask according to your oiliness level on your skin.

Prevention For Sebaceous Filaments

  • Drink a lot of water(10 glasses) to prevent your skin from building up dead skin cells.
  • Do not pop sebaceous filaments as it may turn into pimples.
  • Always clean your face with salicylic acid.
