Healthy women are the foundation of a strong community, and healthy newborns are the future. As essential it is for the baby to have strong health it is equally important for the mother-to-be to stay healthy

Travelling with a baby can get a little hectic for both the toddler as well as the mother, to relieve some of the stress there are a few factors that should be followed to have a smooth and happy journey. Some of them are:

Creating a checklist

Pack the bottles: If you are travelling with a baby older than 6 months, carry extra feeding bottles with you. Get the bottles ready ahead of time boil and clean them and pack so that when needed they are ready to be used.

Get the car-seat: If travelling by road get your baby a car-seat and keep your toddler safe. The portable car seat for babies can be carried anywhere and can be used for the travelling done by air also. While travelling by airplane get the car-seat checked at the gate and ask for a tag.

Ready the stroller: When travelling with the baby by plane, take the baby stroller with you but don’t forget to check whether the stroller is easy to be folded and carried when not in use. Also, get it checked early and ask for a tag as well. When travelling by air carrying the stroller becomes easy as the airplane authorities take care of the stroller when the mother and child have boarded the plane.

Find if the seatmates are friendly or not: It generally happens that the seatmates when travelling by air are not ready to travel alongside a baby as they tend to cry. It is recommended that when travelling with the baby ask for an extra seat so that it becomes easy to travel with baby and all the luggage carried with you.

Get the travel gear ready: Create a checklist and make a backpack stuffed with all the essentials. Even prior the travel plans begin to make a separate checklist for what documents you want to carry with you so that when the time comes it becomes easy.

Board early: Irrespective of the travelling means arrive early than the time booked. If going by plane board early than others so that you get a little comfortable with the surroundings and relax a little bit prior the journey begins.

Carry extra Clothing, snacks, and toys: Don’t forget to pack extra snacks that are non-perishable and healthy. Carry extra clothing for yourself and pack stuffed toys or soft toys for the baby. Whatever the toys you are carrying should be non-delicate and non-pointy.

Try to get the window seat: When travelling by air trying to get the window seat as the baby can be kept engaged by showing the view outside the window. If possible try to ask for an extra seat so that you won’t be bothered regarding the seatmate.

Extra diapers, wipes: Always keep the wipes and sanitizer handy. There might be an extra need of diapers as well. Prior making a travel plan, consult with the doctor or pediatrician at the mother and childcare hospital regarding what products should be used for the baby and what shouldn’t.

Ziplocs and pacifiers: Ziplocs can be used for keeping the wet clothes and should also be kept handy. Pacifiers can be used for keeping the baby engaged and prevent them from crying due to uneasiness.

Swaddlers and blankets: Carry extra swaddlers with you so that the baby can be kept swaddled and thus easy to carry around in your arms. The atmosphere might get a little cold or even may turn out to be hotter, but it is recommended that extra blankets and extra pair of clothes should be carried along. If the baby is wearing extra clothes it is easier to get them off.

Find out the nearest doctor or pediatrician: whenever travelling try to get in touch with the doctor or pediatrician especially if you are travelling alongside one.

Try renting an apartment instead of hotel: if you are renting out an apartment it gets easier to have a cozy stay as you get access to a separate kitchen where you can boil the water or milk.
